Roxanne Meawasige is Anishinaabekwe from Migisi Sahgaigan (Eagle Lake First Nation) in Treaty 3.  Roxanne has over 9 years of professional experience as a Senior Policy Analyst with both the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs (AMC) and Grand Council Treaty 3 (GCT #3), and extensive knowledge in areas such as First Nation governance, Treaty and Aboriginal rights and law; government to government negotiations in areas such as resource revenue sharing, and federal and provincial regulations, legislation, & acts impacting First Nations in relation to education, natural resources, land stewardship, and other related areas.

Prior to working for AMC and GCT #3, Roxanne was an Associate Lawyer at Jerch Law Corporations, where she worked towards Indigenous Peoples’ rights of justice, self-determination, empowerment, and prosperity.  She received her call to the Bar in 2013 and is a member in good standing in the Law Society of Manitoba.  Roxanne earned her Advanced Bachelor of Arts (2006) and Juris Doctor (2012) degrees from the University of Manitoba.
