The Naawi-Oodena Workforce Initiative (NOWI) connects people with construction employment and training opportunities related to the development of Naawi-Oodena.
As construction continues, NOWI is helping build a strong and skilled workforce by connecting workers with contractors and industry partners working on the development.
If you have construction experience, skilled trades experience, certifications, or are interested in exploring opportunities in the construction industry, we want to hear from you.
Who Should Apply?
NOWI welcomes applications from First Nations, Inuit, Métis and other individuals interested in construction and employment opportunities at Naawi-Oodena. Preference will be given to members of Treaty One First Nations.
Whether you’re an experienced tradesperson, apprentice, construction worker, labourer, or someone looking to gain experience in the industry, we want to hear from you.
You may already have years of experience, be starting your career, or have training and certifications you’re ready to put to work.

Construction Opportunities
Naawi-Oodena is being developed in phases, creating employment opportunities across many areas of the construction industry.
NOWI is looking to connect workers with opportunities in site and civil work, skilled trades, mechanical and building systems, site support and other construction-related areas.
Supporting First Nation Employment
NOWI supports Naawi-Oodena’s minimum 25% First Nation employment requirement, helping ensure First Nation workers have meaningful opportunities to participate in the development.
Site & Civil Work:
Excavation, earthworks, utilities, paving, landscaping and surveying.
Skilled Trades:
Carpentry, concrete, electrical, plumbing, drywall, structural steel, masonry and more.
Mechanical & Building Systems:
HVAC, mechanical systems and equipment operation.
Site Support:
General labour, project/ construction management, site safety and other construction support.
