Honouring the TreatiesAs long as the sun shines, the grass grows, and the rivers flowThe annual Treaties 1-11 Gathering is a significant event that unites up to 1,200 leaders, elders, youth, and community members from the numbered Treaty First Nations. This gathering provides an opportunity for leaders to engage in critical discussions on various topics such as political, legal, international, and communications strategies. In addition, other important topics include the Treaty framework and structure, land rights, access to healthcare and education, as well as pathways towards further healing from the residential school system. Anishinabe Days

Join us for a weekend of fun activities that the whole family can enjoy! The 2nd Annual Anishinabe Days Celebration, hosted by the Treaty One Nations, brings together members from across the Nations at Naawi-Oodena for a weekend filled with exciting activities. We have a great line-up of events, from a Traditional Pow Wow, to the return of our fan-favourite Anishinabe Idol Talent Show, free kids’ activities, an Indigenous Vendors Market, and food trucks, with fireworks on Saturday night, July 29. Come on down and celebrate with us, July 29 and 30, at Naawi-Oodena in the 500 Block of Kenaston Boulevard. We can’t wait to see you there! Vendor/Food Truck Information: Vendor spots are full. Treaty One Awards Gala

Treaty One invites you to join us for the inaugural Treaty One Awards Gala on May 7, 2024, at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg. Doors will open at 5:30 PM with a starting time of 6 PM. The Awards Gala will be an unforgettable evening celebrating the excellence and achievements of some of our most prestigious Treaty One community members. This year we award former Canadian Senator, Justice, and member of Peguis First Nation, the Honourable Murray Sinclair, along with former Assembly of First Nations/Assemblee des premieres Nations National Chief & former Sagkeeng First Nation Chief, Phil Fontaine. The evening will feature a special performance by Peguis First Nations' very own folk and country singer-songwriter, William Prince. Prince's remarkable talent has earned him numerous accolades, including the Western Canadian Music Award for Aboriginal Artist of the Year in 2016 and the Juno Award for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year for his debut album, "Earthly Days," in 2017. He's also been recognized with Canadian Folk Music Awards, SOCAN Songwriting Prize, and Juno nominations for his outstanding contributions to music. Whether you're an individual attendee or looking to reserve a table, tickets are available for $210 per person with tables priced at $2,000. Open to all, this is your guide to the upcoming powwows where our Nations will come together to celebrate our Anishinaabe culture, enjoy delicious food, and witness the beautiful dances of our people. Powwow Schedule: - Swan Lake First Nation: June 28-30 - Peguis First Nation: July 19-21 - Anishinaabe Days: July 27-28 - Sagkeeng First Nation: August 2-4 - Long Plain First Nation: August 3-4 - Brokenhead Ojibway Nation: August 9-11 - Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation: August 9-11 - Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation: August 23-25 We look forward to dancing, laughing, and connecting with our Relatives on their traditional lands.
