Position: Special Events/Project Coordinator
Employment Type: Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY:The Brokenhead Ojibway Nation is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Special Events/Project Coordinator. The Special Events/Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating events/programming from start to completion. The goal will be to organize successful events/programming and projects that ensures the Jordan’s Principle mandate, vision, mission and values are met. All events/programming and projects will be planned to meet the target audience and within budget.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Certificate in Management and/or Project Management
  • Proven experience as an Events Coordinator
  • A proven track record of organizing successful events
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent vendor management skills
  • Outstanding relationship building, communication skills and negotiation ability
  • Well organized, proven problem solving and multi-tasking skills
  • Able to handle stress and remain calm
  • Ability to establish professional working relationships with staff, business, government, and non-profit organizations
  • Strict adherence to rules of confidentiality and other policies that define Code of Conduct
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours on short notice
  • Must obtain a up-to-date Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Check if over the age of 18 years
  • Must be willing to submit to pre-employment drug test and future random drug testing
  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and reliable vehicle
