Position: Special Events/Project Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:The Brokenhead Ojibway Nation is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Special Events/Project Coordinator. The Special Events/Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating events/programming from start to completion. The goal will be to organize successful events/programming and projects that ensures the Jordan’s Principle mandate, vision, mission and values are met. All events/programming and projects will be planned to meet the target audience and within budget.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Certificate in Management and/or Project Management
- Proven experience as an Events Coordinator
- A proven track record of organizing successful events
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent vendor management skills
- Outstanding relationship building, communication skills and negotiation ability
- Well organized, proven problem solving and multi-tasking skills
- Able to handle stress and remain calm
- Ability to establish professional working relationships with staff, business, government, and non-profit organizations
- Strict adherence to rules of confidentiality and other policies that define Code of Conduct
- Must be willing to work flexible hours on short notice
- Must obtain a up-to-date Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Check if over the age of 18 years
- Must be willing to submit to pre-employment drug test and future random drug testing
- Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and reliable vehicle
