POSITION SUMMARY: The Brokenhead Ojibway Nation is seeking a highly motivated individual for the casual position of Medical Patient Escort.  The incumbent is responsible for transporting patients to and from Medical and Dialysis appointments.  The incumbent will work hours as required and be physically able to load and unload wheelchair patients.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Must have CPR & First Aid Training or willing to obtain.
• Must assist patients or lift patients into wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Must offer support, encouragement, and solace to patients.
• Ensure patients are comfortable and safe during transit.
• Familiar with area of destination, dependable, flexible, and sound judgment.
• Upon arriving at destination, must have the ability to notify the nurse or patient services coordinator of their arrival.
• Good communications skills, both written and oral, organizational ability and be able to meet deadlines.
• Complete confidentiality and reliability is essential.
• Must provide Clear Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry and Vulnerable Sectors Check.
• Must provide pre-employment clean drug test and submit to future random drug and alcohol testing.
