Roxanne Meawasige is Anishinaabekwe from Migisi Sahgaigan (Eagle Lake First Nation) in Treaty 3.  Roxanne has over 9 years of professional experience as a Senior Policy Analyst with both the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs (AMC) and Grand Council Treaty 3 (GCT3), and extensive knowledge in areas such as: First Nation governance; Treaty and Aboriginal rights and law; federal and provincial regulations, legislation and acts impacting First Nations in relation to education, natural resources, land stewardship, and related areas; and government to government negotiations in areas such as resource revenue sharing.

Prior to working for AMC and GCT3, Roxanne was an Associate Lawyer at Jerch Law Corporations, where she worked towards Indigenous Peoples’ rights of justice, self-determination, empowerment, and prosperity.  She received her call to the Bar in 2013 and is a member in good standing in the Law Society of Manitoba.  Roxanne earned her Advanced Bachelor of Arts (2006) and Juris Doctor (2012) degrees from the University of Manitoba.
