Honouring the TreatiesAs long as the sun shines, the grass grows, and the rivers flowThe annual Treaties 1-11 Gathering is a significant event that unites up to 1,200 leaders, elders, youth, and community members from the numbered Treaty First Nations. This gathering provides an opportunity for leaders to engage in critical discussions on various topics such as political, legal, international, and communications strategies. In addition, other important topics include the Treaty framework and structure, land rights, access to healthcare and education, as well as pathways towards further healing from the residential school system.
