Health Policy Analyst

PURPOSE

The Health Policy Analyst will lead comprehensive research and analysis of existing healthcare practices, policies, and investment strategies to drive the development of the Naawi-Oodena Health & Healing Campus. This pivotal role focuses on designing and advancing innovative, culturally informed healthcare models that address systemic gaps, promote health equity, and respond to the specific needs and priorities of Manitoba and First Nations. Through evidence-based recommendations and strategic collaboration, the Analyst will help shape a transformative vision for sustainable and accessible healthcare services within a sustainable business model.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead research on government healthcare investments, policies, and best practices to inform project development.
  • Analyze data and healthcare trends to identify areas for improvement and propose new healthcare models.
  • Develop business plans, partnership agreements, and investment strategies for the Health & Healing Campus.
  • Collaborate with First Nations health organizations, health organizations, government bodies, and community stakeholders.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and discussions to gather input and promote community engagement.
  • Advocate for health equity and access to care through policy recommendations and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and communication materials to share findings with stakeholders and the public.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of Treaty One First Nations, including cultural, historical, and inherent rights aspects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health policy, political sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in policy analysis, public health, or a related field.
  • Experience in data analysis, research methodologies, and report writing.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong understanding of Treaty One First Nations’ culture, history, and inherent rights.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, or similar software).
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems, regulatory frameworks, and policy development.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and present clear recommendations.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
