Position: Lands Steward Coordinator
Employment Type: Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY: The Brokenhead Ojibway Nation LANDS Department is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position for Lands Steward Coordinator to lead the stewardship team on different land and resource projects within BON Lands and traditional territory.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Valid Class 5F Driver’s License
  • Must have ability to coordinate, organize, and work under minimum supervision
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks when required
  • Valid Chainsaw/Brush saw Safety Certification
  • Ability to keep track of work hours and write reports/invoices
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot equipment to keep in a working order
  • Valid first aid certification an asset
  • Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather conditions
  • Willingness to build capacity and professional development
  • Ability to communicate/relay information to Lands Department & community members
  • Knowledge of mechanics and building considered an asset
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Willing to submit to pre-employment drug testing and future random drug testing
