POSITION SUMMARY: The Brokenhead Ojibway Nation Health Centre/Jordan’s Principle is seeking highly motivated, reliable and enthusiastic individuals to fill full time Rec Coordinator positions to assist in Brokenhead Ojibway Nation’s (BON) Community Wellness Recreation Program. BON Jordan’s Principle will be running a Recreation program that encompasses activities for all ages (Children, Youth, Adult, Elder and Families). BON Jordan’s Principle is establishing a community wellness strategy that will encompass wellness and healing programming for all ages. The incumbent will be responsible for the supervision and activity planning for participants of all age groups. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to be an active contributing member to the Brokenhead Jordan’s Principle Community Wellness Strategy
  • Ability to contribute to planning and developing activities for all target groups
  • Ability to supervise Rec Workers in programming to achieve targeted goals for program participants in a healthy and safe way
  • Ability to conduct scheduling of Rec Staff, collect data, organize, and budget for activities
  • Strong communicational skills both verbal and written
  • Willingness to participate in trainings such as conflict resolution, individual coaching, etc.
  • Keep inventory of all Recreational equipment as well as cleaning, organization and maintain Recreation equipment
  • Record keeping including daily attendance, activity logs and incident reports
  • Ability to keep confidentiality
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evening, weekends and holidays
  • Must submit Clear Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record Check
  • Class 4 license or willing to obtain will be considered an asset as well as previous training and/or education in Recreational Studies
  • Willing to submit to pre-employment drug test and future random drug testing
