Position: Employment & Training/Economic Development Manager
Employment Type: Full Time, term

POSITION SUMMARY: The Brokenhead Ojibway Nation is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Employment & Training/Economic Development Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of all economic development proposals, projects and programs identified for BON in accordance with its policies, procedures, and regulations; provide assistance, counsel, and provide resource information to Community Members on all aspects of training and employment programs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 2-year diploma in Management or Business Administration
- Solid understanding of confidentiality and its enforcement
- Demonstration ability in public relations and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively review business grants and assess proposals and be involved in sectors of training and development
- Ability to forecast and identify economic development projects
- Good oral and written skills with focus on accountability
- Ability to assist Community Members with developing Business Proposals and/or Business Plans
- Ability to identify employment barriers and help clients develop job readiness skills and job search strategies
- Proven Human Resource knowledge and experience
- Strong bookkeeping and budgeting experience
- Be able to identify strengths and challenges
- Case management and/or performance coaching experience
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Criminal Reference and vulnerable sector check, must be able to pass Reliability Check with Government of Canada
