Assistant Program Manager
PURPOSE
The Assistant Program Manager plays a key support role in assisting entrepreneurs, visitors, and programming activities at the Wiitahnookiinitaw Tahshkayzing Entrepreneurship Centre (WTEC) Broadway location. This position is ideal for an individual who is reliable, community-oriented, and interested in supporting Indigenous entrepreneurship and community-driven economic growth.
Reporting to WTEC staff, the Assistant Program Manager will primarily support evening and weekend operations by helping maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for entrepreneurs, visitors, and community members accessing the centre.
WTEC is an Indigenous-led initiative supporting entrepreneurship, innovation, and community-driven economic growth within Treaty One Nations and beyond. Through business development programs, mentorship, and collaborative space, WTEC supports aspiring and established entrepreneurs as they grow, connect, and thrive.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Support evening and weekend operations at the WTEC office located at 191 Broadway.
Assist entrepreneurs and visitors entering and exiting the building.
Greet visitors and assist with inquiries in a welcoming and professional manner.
Maintain a safe, respectful, and professional environment within the collaborative workspace.
Document information, updates, and feedback from entrepreneurs and share relevant information with WTEC staff.
Support WTEC programming, events, and activities as needed.
Monitor building access and ensure operational procedures are followed.
Communicate effectively with WTEC staff regarding entrepreneur needs, activities, and building operations.
Support the overall operations of the WTEC Broadway location by helping ensure entrepreneurs and visitors receive appropriate assistance.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.
Post-secondary education or coursework in business administration, community development, entrepreneurship, office administration, or a related field is considered an asset.
Experience
Customer service, administrative, community support, or front-facing service experience is considered an asset.
Experience working in a collaborative workspace, community organization, business centre, or Indigenous-led environment is considered an asset.
Comfort working evenings and weekends is required.
Cultural Knowledge
Understanding of Indigenous communities, cultures, and community-based initiatives is considered an asset.
Interest in supporting Indigenous entrepreneurs, Treaty One communities, and community-driven economic development is considered an asset.
