DESCRIPTION:Driving Community Forward – 6th Annual Nation Challenge Golf Tournament\nDate: July 23\, 2026Location: Bel Acres Golf & Country Club \nThe Nation Challenge Golf Tournament returns for its 6th year\, bringing together Treaty One leadership\, partners\, and community members for a day on the course in support of our Nations. \nWhat started as a single event has grown into an annual gathering that creates space for connection\, collaboration\, and shared purpose. Each year\, the tournament continues to strengthen relationships while supporting the work of Treaty One advisory councils\, including the Knowledge Keepers Council and Youth Council. \nProceeds from the tournament contribute to initiatives that support cultural knowledge\, youth engagement\, and community development across Treaty One. \nTeams of all skill levels are welcome. DESCRIPTION:Treaty One Nations invites everyone to join us for the inaugural Orange Shirt Day Treaty One Run & Walk on Sunday\, September 27\, 2026\, beginning at the Assiniboia Residential School Monument in Winnipeg. \nThe free 5 km Run & Walk will bring together Residential School Survivors\, families\, First Nations communities\, youth\, and members of the public to honour Survivors\, remember the children who never returned home\, and recognize the strength and resilience of Survivors\, families\, and communities. \nEVENT DETAILS\nDate: Sunday\, September 27\, 2026\nLocation: Assiniboia Residential School Monument\, 621 Academy Road\, Winnipeg\, Manitoba\nCheck-in: 10:00 AM\nRun & Walk: 11:00 AM\nDistance: 5 km\nCost: FREE\nRegistration: Register for the Orange Shirt Day Treaty One Run & Walk \nParticipants of all ages and abilities are welcome. \nOPENING CEREMONY\nThe gathering will begin with an opening ceremony at the Assiniboia Residential School Monument before participants head out on the 5 km route. \nThe ceremony will include prayer\, an Honour Song\, acknowledgements of Residential School Survivors and Elders\, and a historical reflection on the Assiniboia Residential School and its lasting impacts. \nRUN & WALK ROUTE\nThe 5 km course will begin at the former Assiniboia Residential School site and travel through the surrounding area before returning to Theodore Fontaine Park. \nFollowing the Run & Walk\, participants are invited to gather at the finish area for refreshments and to connect with community partners\, cultural displays\, and educational resources. \nREGISTER\nRegistration is free and open to everyone. \nParticipants are encouraged to register in advance through Race Roster: \nREGISTER HERE \nWe invite everyone to walk or run with us as we come together to honour Survivors\, remember the children\, and continue the work of truth\, remembrance\, and healing.
