About Treaty One NationsTreaty One Nations is composed of the seven First Nations who are signatories to the first of the 11 numbered Treaties\, originally signed on August 3\, 1871\, at Lower Fort Garry after several days of discussions and ceremonies. In a 19-year process of coming together as a unified governing body\, the seven Treaty No. 1 First Nations have cultivated a political relationship rooted in Nationhood and a solid foundation for collective governance\, significant opportunities for long-term investment\, and economic development. Treaty One Nations is guided by the Governing Council that is comprised of the seven Chiefs of the Treaty No. 1 First Nations.
