Through needs-based bursaries and scholarships\, the program helps reduce financial barriers\, supports both tuition and living expenses\, and opens pathways into academic\, technical\, and professional fields. \nBy pairing recognition with reinvestment\, the Gala ensures that the success we honour today helps create meaningful opportunities for tomorrow. \n\nAbout Treaty One Nations\nTreaty One Nations is composed of the seven First Nations who are signatories to the first of the 11 numbered Treaties\, originally signed on August 3\, 1871\, at Lower Fort Garry after several days of discussions and ceremonies. \nIn a 19-year process of coming together as a unified governing body\, the seven Treaty No. 1 First Nations have cultivated a political relationship rooted in Nationhood and a solid foundation for collective governance\, significant opportunities for long-term investment\, and economic development. \nTreaty One Nations is guided by the Governing Council that is comprised of the seven Chiefs of the Treaty No. 1 First Nations. \n\nNominations Now Open\nThe Treaty One Awards recognize individuals whose leadership\, dedication\, and accomplishments continue to strengthen our Nations and communities.
